Salamonde II Hydroelectric Power Station

This Hydroelectric power station is located in Cávado River, in the districts of Viera do Minho and Montalegre, and makes use of the 118 m drop between preexistent dams Salamonde and Caniçada.

This hydroelectric power station is constituted by a 2 300 m hydraulic circuit (tunnel), being the intake located in Salamondes dam, a 200m3/s water turbine, and 207 MW of power. It also has a building to support the management of the dam, an electrical substation, and an overflow dam to protect adjacent land from flooding.

 

In the scope of this project, AGRI PRO AMBIENTE coordinated and monitored all construction activities, and developed the Environmental Management Plan, according to applicable legislation, and also made sure all measures regarding impact minimization were applied.
